Building Safety Procedures
Please read the following safety reminders and thank you for your support and cooperation during arrival and dismissal.
Please note:
Students should arrive at school no earlier than
8:50 a.m.
as that is when Mrs. Minerva Daniels starts her day and will be available to supervise the children.
You may park in the Johnson Ave. parking lot and have your child enter at the front entrance. A teacher will be on duty at 8:50 a.m. Your child should proceed to the lobby/gym.
Buses will not enter the parking lot until 8:50 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. If you are driving your child to school in the morning, and the buses have arrived, please drop your child off
along the sidewalk
on
Sycamore Avenue
. There are three walker gates and sidewalks available for your child’s safe arrival.
Please note: we have a walkway near the front entrance.
Your
child should not enter using the gateways for the bus circle.
It is very dangerous for your child to attempt to cross Sycamore Avenue to reach the sidewalk. The amount of traffic makes it difficult for drivers to see children.
Please do not park your car near the bus circle gates while the buses are arriving. The bus drivers have a difficult time coming into the bus circle.
Our children are precious, please have the patience to wait until all buses leave the parking lot before you attempt to leave!
Walkers should use sidewalks and designated walkways.
You should use the designated walkway and not walk between the buses.
Please be patient and cautious at all times.
During arrival Kindergarten students should enter the building and line up at the atrium doorway.
Grades 1 – 5 should wait in the cafeteria. Parents should not escort students to the kindergarten through fifth grade classrooms.
