Dear Duffield Families & Friends: Thank you for visiting Helen B. Duffield Elementary School’s website. I am proud to serve as the principal of such an outstanding learning community. We believe students are individuals with unique strengths and talents who need to feel connected to a larger group. The faculty and staff at Duffield commit to preparing students for a lifetime of learning and to ensure his/her potential. Duffield is one of seven elementary schools within the Connetquot Central School District located in Ronkonkoma, New York. We educate approximately 400 students. Duffield’s faculty and staff recognize the importance of our home-school partnership. Our PTA is an integral part of our social community. Throughout the year, our PTA generously supports many cultural art events and activities that our students look forward to. We value the support we receive from parents and community members and together work for the success of all students. We are very fortunate to have such a dedicated school and an involved community. As the seasons pass, we will continue to strive for academic excellence while focusing on each child’s social and emotional development. The classrooms in our school are safe, creative and engaging places where students feel empowered to take risks and make choices.
