Second graders at Sycamore Avenue Elementary School in the Connetquot Central School District have been using a program called Book Creator to digitally connect with pen pals at North Ridge Primary School in Commack.

On March 7, second graders in Mrs. Dutot and Mrs. Leone’s class at Sycamore Avenue had the opportunity to meet their digital pen pals for the first time face-to-face, using Google Meet.

Book Creator is a program used to create and publish digital books. Students are able to add text, images, videos and other multimedia to customize their books. It allows the students to express their ideas and work in a more creative and engaging way.
